Tasting Notes: The nose of our 2009 Semillon commences with beautiful rich stone fruit aromas. Dried apricots kick it off along with bits of peach and ripe nectarine. Hints of clover honey play into aromas of ripe cantaloupe, vanilla, and notes of caramel laced with orange zest. The palate is equally impressive starting with flavors of butterscotch. Ripe cantaloupe flows into peak of the season apricots, then transitions into pan caramelized peaches with an elegant note of nutmeg spice. This is a phenomenal food wine and will pair nicely with a variety of foods. Steamed shellfish with a rich wine and herb butter sauce, and roast chicken are a couple of standouts.
