Tasting Notes: Tons of tropical and citrus notes leap out of the wine and into your nose as you bring the wine close. Grapefruit jumps out first with some lovely floral accents then the tropical’s come on strong, at first a jumble of wonderful aromas like a stroll through a Central American or Caribbean fruit market. Banana distinguishes itself first but tight on its heels mango, pineapple and guava say hello. Then as you think you’ve seen everything, passion fruit shows up in that last fruit crate as your nose is leaving the fruit stand. The palate is a beautiful expression of that same fruit market. There is a wonderful texture to the wine that allows the fruit to be focused as you taste our 2010 Unoaked Chardonnay. Pineapple is the first expression. Mango and citrus notes of orange and tangerine are present and wonderfully integrated. The finish is one of guava and lemon essence accompanied by a nicely balanced acidity. This wine will pair nicely with fresh salads dressed with a light vinaigrette, fresh fruit and Gorgonzola or blue cheese crumbles and toasted pine nuts
