All of our awesome Unoaked Chardonnay fans can finally rest easy, as can I, because we finally have some of your favorite wine bottled and ready for you after being sold out for a couple of months. This wine has really developed quite a loyal following and people were pretty bummed out when we told them we were sold out. The Unoaked Chardonnay is not only back but this wine came back with a vengeance. A tropical fruit, thunder, hurricane, cyclone kind of vengeance! The tropical aromatics of pineapple, mango, and guava are laced with wonderful aromas of kiwi and Asian pear that leap out of the glass before you can even get it to your nose. On the palate there is a wonderful light touch of sweetness that really accentuates those same wonderful tropical notes from the nose along with flavors of honeydew melon, Asian pears and just a hint of orange custard. The perfectly balanced acidity helps the wine to finish dry on your palate even though it does have a kiss of residual sugar.
The 2016 Unoaked Chardonnay makes me feel like having a nice piece of beautifully seared halibut served over leek risotto with wilted greens and topped with a spoonful of delicate, mango chutney.
